Our Beliefs

We believe the King James Bible is the inspired, preserved Word of God for the English-speaking world. 
It is our authority for all faith and practice.

We believe in living a godly, separated life - You can spot a Muslim or an Amish by how they dress. Modesty is an issue of the heart. God sees our heart, but man looks at our outward appearance (1 Samuel 16:7). To have a godly outward testimony, 
we believe a Christian should look like a Christian that applies the Bible's principles and commands about our clothes. 

Deuteronomy 22:5 "The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman’s garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the Lord thy God."

Isaiah 47:2-3 "...make bare the leg, uncover the thigh... Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea, thy shame shall be seen"

We believe that "nakedness" would be from the 
neck to the knee. For our events and trips, we ask the ladies to wear skirts/dresses that are below the knee, and shirts that are high enough and loose enough to be modest and that have sleeves. 

We don't promote Hollywood, TV, or music that would glorify the flesh rather than our Heavenly Father.

We believe in the Local New Testament Church. 
SOH is established as a ministry of Parker Memorial Baptist Church in Lansing, MI (Pastor Jim Green).

We are independent, fundamental Baptists in doctrine and practice.

We are saved by grace through faith, once and for eternity. (Ephesians 2:8-9) (John 3:16)

We believe in the Pre-Tribulational Rapture of the Saved. (1 Thessalonians 4:15-17)

We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between one man and one woman. (Genesis 2:18-25, Genesis 19, Romans 1, I Corinthians 7)
